At that price you most likely should check what is available at

It will give you different price ranges. Most likely in US dollars.
You do not need to buy from them, but it will give you a good idea as to what instruments and equipment cost.

Your price limit is just going to get you started. You may consider adding a bridge pickup to your accoustic. I have had great success with that.

Well, that’s about $375 US, so that could get you a somewhat low-level electric violin and amplifier, but certainly nothing spectacular. The Yamaha SV’s (Silent Violin) are about the best low cost, or maybe a Fender. Even those start over $500 new just for the violin though (no amplifier). As Kab said, you might want to think about just getting a nice pickup for your acoustic violin and picking up a used amplifier on Ebay. Hartke makes some good acoustic amplifiers that would be great for an electric violin. Shar is always a great place to look at least to get ideas even if you don’t buy from them.

If you really want one around $300 though, check out Bellafina or try to get a used Yamaha one. That’s probably your best bet.
